Ribbon Blower
A single ribbon auger is larger.
It's best with newly fallen snow that has not been manipulated. They are commonly used in urban areas for truck loading and clearing airports, and in mountainous regions with frequent, fast snowfall.
Ribbon type conveyors have a deeper snow intake capacity allowing a faster working speed in many situations, such as large drifts.
Dual Auger
Dual augers are smaller, but usually more productive in icy, hard snow conditions.
These machines are your best friend when it comes to compacted snow windrows and ice.
They are frequently used for commercial parking lots, road widening and cutting through hard snowbanks where foreign debris can be present. This configuration is popular in the Midwest, where snow removal operations span multiple days.
...And if you really need to move a lot of snow, it might be time to check out single-stage models, designed for dump sites with extra large capacity.
